Spring-UP Global Network Launches LitCommunities Program

Spring-UP Global Network (SUGN) is a youth-led not-for-profit, working to bridge the literacy gap between children in rural and urban Ghana. We are on a mission to connect Tertiary students and Business professionals to provide mentorship and career guidance to primary school and secondary school students living in deprived communities in Ghana. In addition, we’re nurturing the reading and writing skills of children through our iRead iLead Campaign. At Spring-UP Global Network, we are working to achieve the UN SDG4 Target 4.1 and 4.6 that says:

·         By 2030, all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes.

·         By 2030, ensure that all youth and a substantial proportion of adults, both men and women, achieve literacy and numeracy.

We are recruiting young leaders who demonstrate commitment to drive change in their communities to join our LitCommunities program and volunteer in our network to help execute projects in the 2023 impact year.

What is the LitCommunities Program?

LitCommunities Program is a year-long program to train and motivate young people to lead and develop projects to advance literacy levels in their communities. As a LitCommunities Leader, you will host our LitChild Clubs in pre-tertiary schools, design literacy activities, and make reading fun for children while advancing literacy levels in your community.

You will be trained, empowered and motivated to improve learning outcomes in basic schools in your community.

The program equips and trains tertiary students and young professionals in fields such as Community Engagement and Programs, Child Education and Literacy Development, Brands and Communications, Finance, and People and Culture.

Improving literacy rates in our communities is a collective duty.

Apply to join our LitCommunities Program before November 15 and let’s drive the change we need.
